MCAS Testing Requirements and Timeline
All students must pass Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System tests in English Language Arts, Mathematics, and Science to receive a diploma from a Massachusetts public high school. Baystate Academy students take the ELA, Biology and Mathematics MCAS tests in spring of the 10th grade.
2017-2018 MCAS Test Schedule
The spring Grade 10 MCAS English Language Arts test is scheduled for February 28, March 1 and March 2. The spring Grade 10 MCAS Math test is scheduled for May 23 and 24. The spring MCAS Science tests are scheduled for June 6 and 7. The complete MCAS Testing Schedule lists all Massachusetts standardized tests for the 2017-2018 school year.
Students who do not pass an MCAS test, who miss a regularly scheduled MCAS test, or who transfer to BACPS without having passed the required high school MCAS tests, must take a retest. ELA and Mathematics retests are given in late fall and early spring. There are no retests in science; students must take a regularly scheduled science MCAS test in February or June.
